P0.50 fare hike granted to transport group in Zambo (3:43 p.m.)
ZAMBOANGA CITY — The Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has granted a provisional P0.50 fare hike to the land transport group in this city.
This came about after the LTFRB regional office received on Wednesday a consolidated order from LTFRB central office granting the fare hike of P0.50.
LTFRB Regional Director Benito Dy-Cesar said there is no more need for the operators and drivers to apply for a new fare matrix from his office as stated in the consolidated order.
All they have to do is to place a notice beside the old fare matrix and visible to the riding public stating a P0.50 fare hike is in effect, according to Dy-Cesar.
With this development, the minimum fare for Public Utility Jeepneys (PUJs) for the first four kilometers is P7 per passenger.
For buses, a P0.10 to P0.25 fare hike was granted by the LTFRB for non-air-conditioned and air-conditioned units. (Sunnex)
