LPG prices to rise this weekend (2:20 p.m.)

MANILA — Prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) will increase by P2.50 this weekend, dealers said.

The increase can be attributed to the mounting oil price in the world market, said Arnel Ty, president of LPG Marketers’ Association.

He also said if contract prices will continue to be as high, then the price increase will take effect.

According to Ty, the price increase at P5 is still lower than their price rollback implemented from January to March 2008, which was at P8.

After the increase, the price of an 11-kilogram tank will already be at P595.50 from the present P568. (Sunnex)
