ZAMBOANGA CITY - Two people died while 14 others were wounded when a powerful bomb exploded shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday in front of the main gate of the Edwin Andrews Airbase (EAAB) in this city.

The victims were among the group of people following up their manifest to be able to ride for free at the military’s C-130 plane for Manila.

The police and military are studying all possible motives behind the attack.

The bomb was placed in a parking lot of a building that also houses the first congressional district office, Airman Savings and Loan Association, Incorporated and the Usaid-funded Alliance of Mindanao Off-grid Renewable Energy (Amore). (Bong P. Garcia/Sunnex)
