28 ferry survivors found in Quezon Province (10 a.m.)

CEBU CITY — A spokesperson from the Department of Social and Welfare Development read over the radio names of 28 persons that have survived the capsized ferry.

DSWD said, the list was given by the Quezon Police office. The 28 persons have reached the different towns of Quezon late Sunday and early Monday.

They are not sure however if those in the list are passengers or members of the crew.

One unidentified male body was also found.

Of the 28 read over DYAB, two are from Bohol, one from Pagaidan, one from Bicol, another from Cubao, while others listed in the Manifesto are from San Mateo Rizal, Novaliches Quezon, Malate and San Pablo Laguna. The rest are from Cebu.

Most of the survivors are still in Romblon. They will be given free passage to Cebu the soonest.

The 23,824-ton Princess of Stars was traveling from Manila to Cebu when it ran aground a few miles off central Sibuyan island then capsized. (Sunnex)
