| June 21, 2008 | MV Princess of the Stars was traveling from Manila to Cebu City when it ran aground a few miles off central Sibuyan island then capsize. Only 57 survivors were listed as of June 25, 2008 with more than 700 passengers and crew still missing. |
| September 18, 1998 | MV Princess of the Orient, the largest ship on the Sulpicio Lines fleet at that time, was allowed to sail from Manila to Cebu City at the height of a typhoon. It sank near the mouth of Manila Bay. The tragedy left 150 passengers dead. |
| December 20, 1987 | MV Doña Paz collided with Caltex-hired oil tanker, MT Vector, at Tablas Strait. The vessel was ferrying passengers from Tacloban City to Manila for the holiday season. The tragedy left 4,000 people dead. Only 24 passengers of Doña Paz and two crew members of Vector were rescued. |
| October 24, 1988 | MV Doña Marilyn sailed from Manila to Tacloban City despite storm warnings. The vessel capsized and left 250 people dead. |
