Food assistance to continue: Remonde (1:35 p.m.)
CEBU CITY — Presidential Management Staff Secretary Cerge Remonde assured Friday food provision and other assistance to families of missing passengers of the ill-fated mv Princess of the Stars will continue.
Remonde made the assurance after the Cebu City Government said it no longer has the funds to support the operations at the action center at the Cebu City Sports Complex.
The City Government has already released P1 million for the food provision of the families since Monday. Families of missing passengers are served three meals a day.
Councilor Gerry Carillo said families from Cebu City would also be given monetary assistance. Records from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) showed there are 163 passengers from Cebu City. (Sunnex)
