Troops arrest kidnap suspect (4:14 p.m.)

ZAMBOANGA CITY — Government troops arrested one of two suspected kidnappers in a coastal village west of Zamboanga City, a local radio station reported Monday.
A report over RMN-Zamboanga disclosed the suspects, aboard a motorized banca, had just arrived in Barangay Sinunuc when they were intercepted on Sunday.
The report said the two were on a kidnapping mission in Zamboanga City but the military here did not confirm nor deny the report.
A businessman and three teachers were separately kidnapped last month in this city and were brought to nearby Basilan province.
