Resado may face perjury case anew (1:45 p.m.)

MANILA– State prosecutor John Resado may again be charged with perjury after a lawmaker revealed on Thursday that some of the fiscal’s businesses were not reflected on his statement of assets and liabilities (SAL).

Parañaque Second District Representative Roilo Golez said the House committee on dangerous drugs will submit to the Ombudsman Resado’s SAL so it could examine the document for a possible perjury charge.

Resado’s SAL for 2006 and 2007 were submitted to the Civil Service Commission.

Golez said they have to submit the documents to the Ombudsman so the anti-graft court can act on them without waiting for the committee report.

Resado refused to comment on the documents, invoking his right to silence. (Justine Paredes/Sunnex)
