ZAMBOANGA CITY — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has created a task force that would focus in solving the abduction of three public school teachers in the southern Philippine province of Zamboanga Sibugay, an official said Saturday.
Task Force Bangkaw-Bangkaw headed by Zamboanga Sibugay Police Director Federico Castro comprises of combined police and military forces will address the abduction of the teachers in the province.
The teachers — Jocelyn Enriquez, Jocelyn Inion and Noime Mande — were seized by four gunmen Friday afternoon while they were aboard a motorized banca traveling to Naga town proper from the island village of Bangkaw-Bangkaw.
The incident was the second that took place this year in Zamboanga Peninsula involving teachers.
The first was the kidnapping of three teachers last January 23 in the southern port city of Zamboanga.
Chief Inspector Alex Lorenzo, Zamboanga Sibugay police spokesman, said troops have been sent to all possible areas where the abducted teachers could be brought by the gunmen. (Sunnex)
