‘Notorious gang’ strikes in Manticao

AN ALLEGED notorious gang shot and stabbed two friends Saturday dawn in Barangay Cabantian, Manticao town in Misamis Oriental.
Operatives of the Manticao Police Station identified the victims as Jun Panunsi, 23, single and Rey Balabat, 29, married, both residents in the area.

Police said the two were about to go home when they met the members of the Black Dragon Gang who challenged them to a fistfight.
The two reportedly tried to evade the group but one member of the group took out a knife and stabbed Balabat on his stomach. Another member allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Panunsi, hitting him on his forehead. The suspects then fled after the incident.
Residents who heard of the gunshot rushed to the scene and brought the victims to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) in Cagayan de Oro.
Relatives of the victims said they are quite alarmed over the presence of the Black Dragon Gang whose members are always seen looking for trouble.
As of this writing, the victims are reportedly in stable condition at the NMMC while the Manticao Police are now investigating the case to know the identities of the gang members. (SUPERBALITA)
