4ID to award LGUs, church groups

THE 4th Infantry Diamond (ID) Division will give recognition to local government units, church-based groups and government agencies that provided unequal contributions to the operations of the Philippine Army.
This, in a simple rite at Camp Evangelista in Barangay Patag, this city Friday.

To be given recognition are Governor Oscar Moreno of Misamis Oriental, Governor Jose Ma. Zubiri of Bukidnon, Governor Jurdin Jesus Romualdo of Camiguin, Governor Mari Valentina Plaza of Agusan del Sur, Mayor Florencio Flores Jr. of Malaybay City, Bishop Juan De Dios Pueblos and Rev. Carlito Clase of the Diocese of Butuan City, Forester Narzal Muñez of the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office and Dominador Ello of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) based in Talakag Bukidnon.
The awarding is part of the 4ID's 40th founding anniversary celebration which focuses on the theme "Working with the People for Peace, Towards a Progressive Future and Sustainable Development in Mindanao."
Major Michele Anayron, 4ID spokesperson, said the recognition will highlight the occasion with Lieutenant General Delfin Bangit, commanding general of the Philippine Army, as guest of honor and speaker.
The 4ID will also give plaques of recognition to Capt. Reynald Rome Goce as "Best Junior Officer of the Year 2009" for his outstanding performance as intelligence officer of the 402nd Infantry (Stingers) Brigade; Pfc. John Guiñeta as "Best Enlisted Personnel of the Year 2009" for his outstanding performance as Order of Battle Analyst, Psychological Operations operator and as a combat soldier of the 30th Infantry (Python) Battalion, and Cafgu Active Auxiliary Limuel Cabillon as "Best CAA of the Year 2009 for his outstanding performance as member of "B" Company, 23rd Infantry (Masigasig) Battalion.
Anayron said other activities that would highlight 4ID's founding anniversary include a mock battle portraying the capabilities of the army and the inter operation ability of 4ID units with actual firing and explosive effects. (ALR)
