PRESIDENT Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is set to grace the opening of this year’s Chamber of Real Estate Brokers Association (Creba) National Convention, from October 8-11, at Grand Caprice Restaurant, Lim Ket Kai Complex, Cagayan de Oro City.

Arroyo, who will give Thurs's keynote speech, will talk on the theme “Pinoy Economic Stimuli in a Global Recession – Mass Housing and World Class Tourism,” Pilar J. Jamandre, regional officer of the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB) in Region 10, said.

Jamandre, who is also the Creba program and invitations committee chairperson, said the three-day affair will revolve on real estate opportunities through mass housing and tourism development as the region poses to become the leading regional economy in Mindanao.

“We have actually invited prominent economists, real estate businessmen, and government officials to present the current state of the international and local economy, and highlight real estate business opportunities in the market for mass housing, tourism, recreation, and retirement destination in the country,” she said.

Meanwhile, to showcase real estate developments in the city, neighboring areas, as well as projects made by national players, a housing and trade fair will be held at the Lim Ke Kai Rotunda during the convention.

Jamandre said this will be done thru the collaborative efforts of the city Government and other local government units of the region, Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc., Oro Bankers and Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC), and attached agencies, namely: Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF), National Housing Authority (NHA), National Home Mortgage and Financing Corporation (NHMFC), Socialized Housing and Financial Corporation (SHFC), and the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP).
