AFTER the successful first job fair in Cagayan de Oro, the Public Employment Service Office (Peso) will again host another grand job fair for domestic and overseas employment on November 30 and December 1, 2011.
Juvy B. Paza, Peso manager, said around 36 local and 10 overseas companies already confirmed for the upcoming job fair and still counting.
Among the participating local companies were General Motors Corporation, Del Monte Philippines, Coca-Cola, Pilipinas Kao, Hanjin, Nestle Philippines, Asia Brewery, Tanduay, Philippine Iron Construction and Marine Works, Red Dragon, SM save more, staff house, LEAD agency, EEI, among others.
Paza said even the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) are expected to join the event.
She already urged participating companies to make sure that they will cater bulk of new applicants.
The first job fair was in June this year where around 1,038 were hired on the spot for the overseas employment and 3,408 for local employment.
Paza said in the upcoming job fair 30 established companies are disallowed to join who failed to meet the necessary terms and conditions of the PESO in hiring applicants.
She said the job fair is the City Government’s early Christmas treat to the jobless who wish to land a good job.
Paza said city mayor, Vicente Emano, expressed full support in city hall’s incoming activity.
Councilor Alexander Dacer, chairman, Committee on Employment, encouraged more companies to join the job fair as this “would mean a big thing to those jobless and those who wish to seek for new jobs.”
Paza said jobseekers can now submit their resumes at the PESO office in preparation for the “big day.”
