Prices of flowers to double starting today

GIVING of flowers is the best gift that romantic partners could get during Valentine’s Day celebration. Most lovers express how they love each other through flowers. That’s why flower vendors could not be blamed to take advantage of raising the prices of their display unlimitedly and uncontrollably.
Starting today, Monday, prices of flowers are expected to reach heaven as Valentine’s Day nears.

Rubylyn Pagaran, 28, of Camaman-an, Cagayan de Oro, said “Daisy Duran flower shop” will definitely double the prices of roses of all colors from P10 to P20 each flower; Malaysian Mumps, P25 to P30 each; a basket of flowers from P50 to P100 per basket; a dozen of ready-made bouquet that currently amounting P500 skyrockets to P700; orchids, from P100 to P200; while price of Calla Lily would reach P500.
However, according to Pagaran, prices of flowers would depend on the suppliers.
“Right now, seldom that you see people buying flowers for Valentine’s Day. Next week is peak season for ‘flowers of lovers.’ It is expected though that price of flowers would be doubled,” she said.
