AIMING to intensify its nationwide network expansion, Sun Cellular further boosts its signal down south with wider and stronger network coverage in Davao and Cagayan De Oro.

Regarded as the financial and tourism hub of Mindanao, Davao City ranked 87th in the City Mayors Foundation’s list of fastest growing cities in the world. The city is famous as the home of Mount Apo, the Philippine’s highest peak, and the durian.

Cagayan De Oro, on the other hand, is considered as the “Melting Pot of Mindanao” due to its accessibility. The identifying trait of its people is their hospitality, giving the city the moniker “The City of Golden Friendship.”

Sun Cellular has accounted both these areas as the prime target for its continuous network expansion in Mindanao.

“We want to ensure that our customers will experience the best network coverage wherever they are in the country. Whether in northernmost reaches of Luzon or down south in Mindanao, customers may now rely on a stronger Sun Cellular signal,” said Charles A. Lim, chief operating officer of Sun Cellular.

Sun Cellular’s network expansion can already be experienced in the northern parts of Luzon. Lim also revealed about the ongoing network enhancements to be rendered on other key Luzon areas.

He highlighted Sun’s efforts to substantially boost coverage along the Banaue Rice Terraces in Ifugao, the mountainside areas of Sagada and the vast strawberry plantations of La Trinidad, Benguet.

“We pursue these developments to ensure that our enhanced services are felt even beyond the realms of the home and the business. As much as possible, we’d like to extend the promise of a better Sun Cellular network in areas where our customers would go and travel to,” added Lim.

Earlier this year, Sun Cellular has revealed to the public its large-scale network expansion project for 2012.

With the help of key synergies with its sister companies in the PLDT Group, Sun Cellular has already embarked on this initiative, starting with Mindanao and now parts of northern and central Luzon.

Sun Cellular is part of the PLDT Group.
