GMA Network invests P200M for Oro station

GMA Network Inc. will invest P200 million for the construction of its Cagayan de Oro station.

Oliver Victor B. Amoroso, GMA Network assistant vice president for Integrated Marketing Services (IMS) Division Regional TV Department, said before the year ends, they will start the construction of the state-of-the-art GMA premier station.

Amoroso said GMA’s Cagayan de Oro station will be patterned after its newly opened Ilocos station that has a bigger studio, high technology facilities and transmission lines that can give clear signals anywhere in Mindanao.

“Once the station will be fully operational, more local shows and local news will be aired, and more entertainment will be viewed by our Cagayan de Oro, Bukidnon, Camiguin, Butuan and the rest of viewers in Northern Mindanao,” he said.

Amoroso said presently, they are looking for a good location in the city where they will build the station.

“We hope to finish the construction of the station before next year’s election,” he said.

Meanwhile, GMA is now preparing for a grander fiesta celebration this August.

Amoroso said they are bringing in prime time program artists to entertain Kagay-anons.

Over the weekend, Alden Richards and Louise delos Reyes -- two of the country’s bankable and promising stars of their generation -- visited Cagayan de Oro and Bukidnon to promote their latest project “One True Love.”

The teleserye “One True Love” is GMA Network’s newest addition to its primetime soap, which premiered last Monday, June 11.

Joining them in the promo tour are cast members Benjie Paras (as Douglas), Lucho Ayala (as Troy) and newest Kapuso star Agot Isidro (as Leila).

The highlights of the “One True Love” promo tour in Cagayan de Oro and Bukidnon will be seen in a “Let’s Fiesta TV Special” via the Network’s regional stations in Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Dagupan, Cagayan de Oro, General Santos, Naga, Bacolod and newly-launched station in Ilocos.
