IN LINE with its ongoing efforts to make its services even more accessible to value-seeking Filipinos, leading mobile carrier Sun Cellular partners with electric power giant Meralco to facilitate easy Sun Postpaid line application for Meralco customers.

Coined as the “Move with Sun” partnership, this program prequalifies a select segment of Meralco customers to a Sun Postpaid Plan 350 line and offers them a special partnership-exclusive plan package.

“This partnership with Meralco endeavours to create a convenient means for Meralco customers to apply for a new Sun Postpaid line. Now, they could start by just presenting their latest Meralco bill with the promo ad, along with a valid ID, at the nearest branch of The Sun Shop,” says Ricky Pena, Senior Vice President for Sun Postpaid and Broadband Marketing.

Under this special application scheme, qualified customers can readily apply for the Sun Plan 350 with unlimited Sun calls and texts and 250 texts to other networks. With every subscription, they also get a free Alcatel OT-918N Glory Android smartphone and bonus five hours of mobile internet per month for the first six months (exclusive to Meralco clients).

Peña revealed that aside from giving users a good experience of 3G and Android connectivity, this partnership-exclusive bundle also aims to extend market access to the new Meralco application called “Move”, short for “MeralcO Virtual Engine”.

MOVE is Meralco’s latest innovation, which offers round-the-clock access to Meralco assistance on smartphones and tablets. It has six services that offer location help, teach consumption control and help customers plan ahead, all integrated in one mobile app suite.

“Meralco is committed not only to delivering reliable and safe electric service, but also to providing excellent customer service and convenience to the Filipinos,” says Meralco’s SVP and Head of Customer Retail Services & Corporate Communications Alfredo Panlilio.

“Through this offering, Sun Cellular joins Meralco in addressing the growing consciousness among consumers of the need to monitor the energy consumption of their households,” added Pena.

Aside from this joint initiative, Peña also assures that Sun continues to look for more partnerships and synergies that will help the network deliver even better services and create a more pervasive distribution system for all its offerings nationwide.

Sun Cellular is a member of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company Group. (PR)
