THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Misamis Oriental is inviting malls and business establishments in the province, especially awardees of the DTI Certified Establishments Program, to hang streamers bannered with Consumer Welfare Month in their stores or business offices.
They demonstrated their involvement to the National Consumer Affairs Council (NCAC) in the celebration of the Consumer Welfare Month in October themed “Get organized. Be heard. Be empowered.”
Recommended streamer size is one meter by three meters, said Almer R. Masillones, DTI-Misamis Oriental chief trade and industry development specialist.
The celebration is in pursuant to Presidential Proclamation 1098, which declared October of every year as the Consumer Welfare Month, with the aim to promote dissemination of sound consumer-related information and to encourage dialogue and cooperation among consumers, business and government sectors in strengthening consumer welfare and protection.
DTI-Misamis Oriental has yet to release the list of outstanding business establishments in the province and in Cagayan de Oro.
