-A A +AWednesday, October 3, 2012
THE Public Private Partnership (PPP) Center of the Philippines, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Northern Mindanao, and the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Northern Mindanao, will conduct an Orientation Workshop on Public Private Partnership program on October 2-3 in Pearlmont Hotel, this city.
Said orientation aims to provide basic understanding on the fundamentals of public private partnership as well as various aspects the Center offers to facilitate the development of PPP projects.
The PPP program has been identified by government as one of its key strategies in achieving national development by realizing critical infrastructure and development projects at the national and local levels.
One area where the LGUs need critical capacity strengthening support is on the development and implementation of local infrastructure and development projects through PPP mechanisms.
The PPP Center is the government instrumentality mandated to provide advisory services, technical assistance, training and capacity development assistance to agencies and LGUs in PPP project preparation and development.
A memorandum of agreement was entered into by DILG last October 11, 2011 with the PPP Center to formalize its collaboration in enabling LGUs as they develop and undertake local infrastructure and development projects through PPP.
PPP orientation workshops have been successfully conducted already in Regions 3 4, 4-A, 7, 11, CAR, and Caraga.
PPP Center of the Philippines is an attached agency of NEDA, established from the former Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) Center pursuant to Executive Order No. 8, series of 2010. (RD/DILG/PIA-X/PR)
