THE RTWPB of Northern Mindanao celebrates with pride the winning of Elim Agricultural Supply-Poultry Dre
ssing Plant of the municipality of Clarin, Province of Misamis Occidental in the 2013 Productivity Olympics Awarding Ceremonies on October 24, 2013 held at Century Park Hotel, Manila.
Elim Agricultural Supply-Poultry Dressing Plant is a poultry dressing, cutting, blasting, deboning, marinating and distribution company under the Category of Agri-Business – Medium Enterprise Category.
The company bested the 21 National Nominees adjudged as Regional Champions out of 10 National Winners of this year’s Productivity Olympics prestigious search.
Winning Productivity Improvement Programs (PIPs) of the company included the installation of stainless screw chiller and paddle chiller which increased its volume of production to 10.7 percent; relocation of secondary by-product facility and relocation of evisceration line shortened the processing time of work which allows savings on labor, production and overhead costs; upgrading of equipment such as: scalding equipment, defeathering equipment, conveyor equipment, stunner equipment which eliminate delays in production, and reduced risks of exposure of workers to chlorine and other substance and expansion of RKD and By-Product Area and Relocation of By-Product area from outside premises created a more conducive and safe work environment.
Operating as a food processing plant, the company is compliant with the GMP, HACCP, Halal and ISO requirements.
Recognition at the regional level will be conferred by the RTWPB-X Chairperson and Regional Director of DOLE-10, Dir. Alan M. Macaraya on November 20, 2013 during the DOLE Management Committee meeting in Ozamiz City and Provincial TIPC meeting in the province of Misamis Occidental.
Productivity Olympics is a prestigious biennial national competition for best productivity programs or practices on business excellence and resource management of the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) organized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) in coordination with the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPBs) since 2008.
The awards are categorized by sector such as: agribusiness, industry and service; and by establishment size such as: micro, medium and small establishments.
In 2008, Slers Industries Inc., a globally dynamic organization producing fine quality foods won under the Business Excellence category for Medium Enterprise.
In the same year, Velomer Poultry Breeder Farms also won under the category of Small Enterprise category for Best in Business Excellence.
In 2009, Vjandep Pastel of Camiguin, a pastry shop founded in 1990 known for its pastel bread buns sought of by tourists and local travelers won in the Category of Best in Business Excellence under the Medium Enterprises.
