TALK about sports, be it in the mud, in the desert or in the water, men would get lured into such. They surely know a lot about engines, specs, wheels and among others.
One thing’s for sure, boys really love their toys.
Raymund Paras, an entrepreneur and a hobbyist of water sports, launched his business, Xmos, last December 18, 2013 at barangay Puntod, Cagayan de Oro.
This is the first store in Northern Mindanao. The store is loaded with extreme sports gears, engines, cameras, gadget protectors, and all other stuff to name.
Majority of the products are imported from the world-renowned manufacturer and distributor of aircraft engines and recreational vehicles, Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP); and others are from other extreme sports gear companies.
Attended by his family, relatives and close friends, the soft opening of Xmos was blessed by Rev. Fr. Julius B. Clavero, SSJV.
Big toys for boys
Although the store’s displays are incomplete, since there are other products that are yet to arrive, Paras pursued to open it to the public as he believes that the displays are enough to be seen by the Kagay-anons.
The Sea-Doo, a jet ski that possesses a unique kind of system called the Intelligent Brake and Reverse system (iBR) which allows the user to stop as he steps on the brake lever if he wishes to.
Another advantage of this vehicle is whenever the user is a beginner, there is the Learner Key which only allows 5000 kph and the Normal Key which reaches up to 7000 kph or more.
It is also not prone to heist since the jet ski itself is programmed with its key.
Another toy for the boys that one must check out is the yellow Outlander 650 X mr which is good for mud activities.
It includes an analog/digital guage, a relocated radiator, a 3000-lb winch on its front, mud-riding footrests, a front and rear Air Control Suspension with FOX Air Asist HPG shocks and the 30-inch Gorilla Axle Silverback tires and 14-inch ITP SS312 cast-aluminum wheels.
Paras mentioned that this may also be used in farmlands for towing heavy objects.
The Maverick, which is the biggest among the three displays, does not fail to prove its size as the functions are well fit for big recreational activities.
Used in the deserts of Dubai, Paras decided to include this behemoth on the list.
With a FOX PODIUM X Performance RC2.5 HPG piggyback shocks, Torsional Trailing A-arms (TTA) independent rear suspension, Rotax 1000R V-Twin engine with high-flow dynamics, 12-inch aluminum beadlock wheels, X-package seat trim, X-package graphics, and good cockpit, the rider will surely enjoy his ride. With a bumblebee color, it surely attracts people interested.
Aside from the big toys one must see for himself are the eye candies.
There are the Go Pro cameras, Boombox speakers, FOX Sports outwears, Dry
Pak waterproof cases, Evinrude Johnson oil, among others.
Paras also made mention that other products are yet to arrive soon like the inflatable stand-up paddle board.
Best for paddling in the river and since it is inflatable, the user can fold it till the next time he wishes to use it.
Unlike the standard carbon, fiberglass or wood material which is sturdy and space-consuming too.
As of now, Paras has not yet thought about expanding but if he thinks that the business is up for growing, he will definitely expand in Iligan.
He is the dealer of Scan Marine Inc., the official distributor of BRP. (Alyssa Rikka C. Clenuar-MUST Intern)
