The SSF is a banner program of Secretary Gregory Domingo, and it started only last year with a P7-million package and another P7 million for this year for the entire region, she said.

“SSF concept is designed to improve the productivity of our SME’s by providing new equipment, new technology, improve the efficiency of operations and the quality of the products they produce so that it will have easy access to the market,” Jain added.

Meanwhile, Zamboanga del Sur DTI Provincial Director Ma. Socorro M. Atay clarified that these facilities are being tagged with “Property of DTI” which means it is still the property of the government, but after two years of successful operations these equipment and facilities will be donated to the beneficiaries at no cost through a deed of donation.

The organic fertilizer processing facilities are composed of a shredding machine, vermicast separator, back trousers, sprayers, tanks, plows among others and the handicraft sewing machines with a total cost of P468 thousand and P138 thousand, respectively. (PIA)
