THE leading real estate classifieds website in the Philippines is expanding its operations to Visayas and Mindanao due to the growing real estate market in the country.

Jacqueline van den Ende, founder and managing director of Lamudi in the Philippines, said that the increasing interest in the real estate sector is also demonstrated by the fact that many of the big Manila-based developers and brokers are moving there as well.

“It is very important to reach out to the Cebu and Davao market because they, next to Manila, are drivers of the Filipino economy and of the Pinoy real estate industry in particular. Without the offering of the brokers of Cebu and Davao, Lamudi would not be able to offer every Filipino their dream house all across the country. The Cebu and Davao market are already very important and their importance is only expected to grow further,” she stated.

In March, Lamudi picked Cebu city as the top livable city in their Asian portfolio, describing it as an “economic powerhouse.” It houses a number of malls, universities, tourist attractions, and affordable real estate properties.

Meanwhile, Davao prides itself as the “Melting Pot of the Philippines” due to its fast growing population, tourism and business opportunities, as well as for its religious, cultural and language diversity.

“We offer brokers in Cebu and Davao the possibility to market their properties to the 36 million Filipinos who are online and to OFWs around the world given the international reach of Lamudi. In addition to a trusted place for licensed brokers to sell market their properties we give brokers their own free micro site which allows them to market themselves. Lastly we educate the market by training brokers on online marketing techniques,” van den Ende added.

Lamudi.com.ph, which started operations in January of this year, has now over 40, 000 online residential, commercial and other real estate property listings from developers and PRC-licensed brokers.

The company has active offices in Manila, Cebu and Davao.

“Lamudi wants to provide a dream house to every single Filipino. Therefore we aspire to get every single property in every corner of the country online as well as reach out to consumers across the country to inform them that now their dream house is one click away,” she said.
