5 ‘patok’ businesses to invest in 2014-A A +A
Tuesday, July 15, 2014
INVESTING is one of the ways to create and manage wealth, according to Chinkee Tan, wealth coach and “edutainer,” one who educates in an entertaining manner.
“Never put your eggs in one basket,” Tan said. “Invest wisely and do not to rely on your job alone.”
In starting a business, never get in to anything that you are not familiar with. Do not start a water refilling station if you do not know the machines and protocol needed for a water business, he added.
However, if you don’t have any idea what to sell, there a top five businesses this year that according to him is easy to learn and “patok” (viable) in the Philippines.
First on the list are food businesses. Grilled, fried, roast, baked, steamed, boiled, name it. Filipinos love food.
“In some countries they eat three times. Pinoys, we eat at an average of 5 times a day,” Tan said.
This means a fast food chain or food cart franchise or just a mini-“pampalamig” station will keep your money revolving. People will never stop buying food. You will not run out of customers.
At the height of telecommunications and the internet-reliant society, load businesses are in demand.
While you run knocking on load stations at 12 midnight, it would be better for you to sell load instead.
Just make sure that you pay if you purchase load for yourself too to avoid turning your business in to a personal loading station.
Since Cagayan de Oro’s tourism is building up, tourism-related businesses should be started as early as now.
“Kailangan sabayan mo yun,” advised Tan. Handmade bracelets, t-shirts, bus rentals, tour guide agencies, name it. As the city’s tourism increases, your business will, too.
Who doesn’t want to be healthy, well and beautiful always?
In a generation of tired corporate and workaholic individuals, stress takes its toll in the body and the face.
That’s why establishments like spas, beauty salons, gyms and pharmacies are expanding.
However, if you are not confident to start on your own business yet, direct selling is an option.
It is also a ground for you to practice confidence and basic marketing skills. After all, our core competency lies in the basics.
The five businesses mentioned should be studied well before investing in. Ask, study and start a business that you understand, not just know about. Learn before earning. Read about it, research and attend trainings. Enhance yourself.
