JOLLIBEE Foods Corporation opened in the city its 100th store in Mindanao store last August 26, 2014, once again bringing its “Langhap Sarap” meals closer to the Kagay-anons.

Their newly-opened store at Velez St. is their way of giving back to the people for patronizing Jollibee and making it number one in the hearts of many.

“We have received enormous support from the people here. We wanted to give back to Kagay-anons. Our 100th store is dedicated to the families who have supported us since the first store opened and for making us the number one,” Oliver Alcid, Mindanao Area Manager of Jollibee Foods Corporation, said.

In 1991, the first Mindanao store was opened here in Cagayan de Oro. Since then Jollibee’s Lim Ket Kai branch, the first Mindanao and CdeO branch, was followed by several branches opening in almost every corner of the city.

Now, Jollibee has 17 branches and is still expanding.

“Cagayan de Oro has proven to be a very loyal market. We are very grateful to the people as well as the government too because they have extended their support to us,” Alcid added.

In the past years, Jollibee used the slogans “Sarap ng Pilipino,” “Ang Sarap Maging At Home,” “Atin ang Langhap Sarap!,’ “Bee Happy” and the present “Bida ang Saya,” all signifying that their stores are each Filipinos’ home.

Aside from its food, the unique sense of nostalgia the franchise offers is its key selling point among Filipinos not only in the city, but also worldwide.

One could instantly feel the wave of comfort and familiarity with families eating side by side and enjoying their food when you enter the restaurant’s doors.

A bite of their famous Chickenjoy gives you a glimpse of your childhood and their tasty fries and spaghetti makes you remember of carefree days.

We, Filipinos, crave for the feeling of familiarity, home. And Jollibee gives us that.

Today, Jollibee Food Corporation is the Philippine’s largest fast food chain and a favorite among many Kagay-anons.
