SONY, the leading manufacturer of electronics, video, communications and information technology products, is offering a new camera under its 3D entertainment line, the Sony NEX-5, considered as the world’s smallest interchangeable-lens digital camera.
Rheyson Salvacion, sales staff of Sony’s display center at Limketkai Mall, said the new NEX-5 camera is similar to its digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) cameras but is more compact and lighter.

“The NEX-5 camera has interchangeable lens with a full high definition (HD) movie recording and a 3D sweep panorama. It has no viewfinder but the LCD screen is movable, giving users comfort when taking shots below the knee,” Salvacion said during an informal press conference inside the Sony display center in Limketkai Mall Thursday.
Salvacion said the new camera still has manual function and with intelligent auto adjust function for first-time users who are not yet familiar with its features.
He said the NEX-5 camera comes with a SEL 1855 lens and an external flash.
The new 14.2 mega pixel NEX-5 camera also has image sensor for better picture quality, now selling at P37,999 at all Sony display centers in Cagayan de Oro and other major cities of the country.
