THE City Government of Cagayan de Oro has allocated at least P100,000 for the development of Duaw Park which Mayor Constantino Jaraula hopes to start next week.
The Duaw Park is situated in front of the St. Augustine Cathedral where flower shops abound. At the back of the flower shops is the tennis court.

“Before my term ends, I would make it a point that all my beautification projects would be put in order,” Jaraula said during the regular flag raising ceremony at City Hall Monday.
According to the mayor’s plan, the existing tennis court would be transferred to the old cemetery while the flower vendors would be moved backward so as not to make the park look like a market.
As part of the budget, Jaraula said a more spacious parking lot would be constructed for the convenience of churchgoers during Mass hours.
He said a coffee shop will also be constructed within the park to be managed by Barangay 1 as extra income for the barangay.
“There were squatters in the area but we have prepared notices of evacuation for them to leave the area within a week as we intend to implement the project immediately,” Jaraula said.
He said it pained him so much that the squatters would be asked to move out but as a mayor, he said it is also his duty to beautify and improve the city.
Jaraula said he would try his best to finish every project he had started before he steps down as mayor.
He said if situations cannot be avoided that the on-going construction will not be done after his term, he expects that the next mayor would finish what he had started since all that he had done was for the good of the Kagay-anons.
