Drug agency nabs ‘drug pusher, users’

OPERATIVES of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Northern Mindanao (PDEA-X) arrested suspected drug pusher and users in a buy-bust operation Thursday.
The buy-bust operation was conducted at the vicinity of Purok 5, Saray in Iligan City on Thursday afternoon.
Arrested during the operation was Odessa P. Dagpin, 28, single parent, jobless and a resident of Purok 5.

Dagpin was arrested after selling two pieces of small transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, weighing more or less .05 grams to PDEA agent who acted as poseur-buyer.
During the operation, Christopher Quiros, 29, who is in the watch list of drug personalities, managed to escape.
The PDEA operatives also arrested Edwin E. Galarpe, 31, single, a construction worker residing at Purok 6 Saray and Joesical A. Bonete, 30, single, waiter and a resident of Purok 1 Saray while in the act of sniffing “shabu”.
Improvised paraphernalia for sniffing “shabu” were recovered from the scene and one small-sized transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be “shabu” ready for consumption.
Also recovered during the operation were five pieces of medium-sized transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu weighing more or less two grams, drug paraphernalia and other non-drug evidences such as one piece Colt cal. 45 bearing serial no. 037308 with inserted Hi-Cap magazine containing 10 live ammunitions, one piece cal. 45 extended magazine, one piece Armscor .38 cal. revolver with serial no. 64369 with holster, 11 pieces of .38 live ammunitions, one piece improvised shotgun (sumpak), one hand grenade, one piece stainless steel silencer, and five pieces 500-peso bills.
The suspects are now temporarily detained at the PDEA-X Iligan sub-office for booking and documentation while the confiscated drug items were brought to the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory in Manila for qualitative and quantitative examination.
A case for violating R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act is being prepared against the suspects.
