DTI vows quality service with ISO certification

UPHOLDING the policy to deliver better, faster and more efficient service to its clients, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Northern Mindanao was conferred with ISO 9001:2008 Certification on July 29, 2010 in a ceremony held at DTI-Regional Office.

Regional Director Alicia V. Euseña expressed that the achievement is a major milestone of the department, which assures the public of a quality management system that eventually translates to better service standards provided to our clientele.
The certification includes the services related to business development and consumer welfare provided by the regional office and its five provincial offices.
The certification was awarded by Anglo Japanese American (AJA) Registrars Inc.
vice president Mr. Paul B. Bagatsing.
“The department has set guidelines and standards in carrying out the mandate and mission of the agency, thus we can serve more with customer satisfaction as the end in mind. This will not only benefit our clients but also to our people in the department as well,” Euseña said.
She added that the challenge to continually satisfy and meet the requirement of their clients will drive them further to continually improve their system.
“The monthly internal quality audits and the customer feedback mechanism we have implemented will guide us on where and how to improve our delivery of service to our clients,” Euseña stressed.
The road for the ISO 9001: 2008 Certification is awarded to organizations whose quality management system and processes conforms to international standards set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). (PR)
