Emata: Kick them off, Mr. President

By Ben Emata

PRESIDENT Noynoy Aquino is on his way towards cleaning the government of all sorts of stupidity that stuck to it ever since. I have reasons to execute a smart salute for an on-going job that is not only terrific but above all things supreme. This is long overdue. It has put us on our knees for a long time.

This is definitely a big project undertaken by the President. He needs support and courage to do this. He needs strong determination to do such an important endeavor. The reason is, thievery in the government does not look big compared to the numerous matters that involved peace and order, education, food, finances and so on. Corruption works quietly but destroys big. It is a great devil at work.

Updates on President Benigno Aquino III's presidency

The matter was simply ignored since it does not appear very destructive to the system. Not so many people realize that the matter can cause the collapse of the republic. Right now, the country is limping of poverty and could dive flat any moment. The country and the people have become victims for a long time.

I urge the President to be very serious about this campaign. He must know where the thieves are. They are visible and have grown powerful and influential and to touch them is not easy. Just let the NBI, CIDG and all other investigating agencies of the government do their job. Let them invade the department of internal revenue, Labor, Customs, Education, prison, Land Transportation Commission, Public Service Commission, public highways, public works, department of health and all other departments.

These people are well known in the government because they hold power and dictate the movement of business. They look like saints but clothed the evil suit. They own millions of unexplained wealth. They own such items as real estates, cars, agricultural lands, mansions, apartments and other matters. These stolen properties are located in the country, in USA, in European cities and even in Asian capitals.

Once the big ones are arrested and thrown to jail, I bet every department will go down its foolish activities until corruption or thievery in the government will stop for good. But this is a huge job and it will certainly take time to dismantle such an evil figure. It needs serious battle with the thieves and continue it until it is over.

Corruption and thievery are causing the loss of billions of pesos that could have been spent for government projects like school buildings, road and bridges, airports, piers, agricultural project and so many other things that we need.
These things have impoverished the country and put to a stop the many projects that are on line for implementation.

I urge every citizen of this country to support the President on this endeavor.
Let us rally behind him and fight the thieves in government service and put behind bars the guilty party. The fight must be sustained. It has to stop once and for all and see the difference in just a few years.
