KAGAY-ANONS enjoyed a lot of entertainment as some Kapuso stars from GMA Network participated in many activities as part of the city’s fiesta celebration on August 28.
“Munting Heredera” cast Katrina Halili and “Futbolilits” star Daniel Matsunaga were in the city on Sunday for a show together with Kapuso artists Michelle Madrigal, Ehra Madrigal and Will Devaughn who gamely played with the audience and performed live at the SM City Canopy.
Before the show, the GMA stars had a little chat with the local media and laid down their plans and projects with GMA Network.
Halili says she will have another show that would probably start by September.
“Tapos na po ‘yung character ko sa ‘Munting Heredera.’ But it’s good to know kasi the soap is extended until December,” she says.
She also shared her triumph over the disbarment of controversial doctor Hayden Kho.
“I am very happy with the decision of the court since what I have fought so hard has finally been given justice. His fate is not something we should be rejoicing but that is what people get when they do something wrong,” Halili says.
Meanwhile, Matsunaga says he wants to marry her girlfriend, actress Heart Evangelista, but did not reveal the exact date and year.
“Career muna ngayon and siyempre save for our future. Darating din tayo diyan,” he said.
During their short visit, all of the Kapuso stars expressed gladness over the hospitality of Kagay-anons as they promised they will visit the city again during their spare time.
Other Kapuso stars who took part in the weeklong fiesta celebration included RnB Prince and Party Pilipinas mainstay Jay-R and his real-life sweetheart, beauty queen Krista Kliener, during the coronation night of the Ms. Kagay-an 2011 Wednesday last week.
Kliener served as one of the judges in the annual beauty search.
GMA Cebu’s Anna Maris Igpit and GMA TV Cagayan de Oro’s “Isyu” Karon reporter Joyce Vega hosted the PE Rhythmic Dance Festival Thursday last week at the Pelaez Sports Center with comedian John Fier of GMA’s Sunday show “Pepito Manaloto.”
On Friday, GMA also held a documentary festival with “Balita Pilipinas Ngayon” anchor Mark Salazar as guest.
“Starstruck” alumnus Mike Tan also joined the Kapuso Golden Float Parade on Saturday with the winners of the Ms. Kagay-an 2011 search.
Armi Sobremisana, GMA TV Cagayan de Oro Sales and Marketing Officer, expressed her gratitude to the organizers of this year’s Kagay-an Festival for the success of the celebration and in making GMA Network as their prime media partner.
Oliver Amoroso, AVP for GMA Regional TV, said the highlights of the Kagay-an Festival will be seen thru “Isyu Karon” Northern Mindanao.
Amorsolo added that the Kapuso TV special will be aired on September 11 in all eight regional TV stations in Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Bacolod, Dagupan, Davao, General Santos, Iloilo and Naga. (Nicole J. Managbanag/Terry D.C. Bentonio)
