THE cast of GMA Network’s latest primetime series “Makapiling Kang Muli” made their first stop in Cagayan de Oro and Misamis Oriental over the weekend to entertain and mingle with their fans.
Lead stars Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati gave full blast entertainment to their fans along with the show’s other cast Janine Gutierrez, Dominic Rocco, Benedict Campos and Mark Anthony Fernandez.
All the way from Manila, the cast joined the two-day Kapuso Barangayan on Saturday in Laguindingan town in Misamis Oriental and Barangay Camaman-an in Cagayan de Oro.
GMA fanatics were given another round of entertainment the following day, Sunday, when the cast personally went to Barangay Macabalan in Cagayan de Oro and later at SM City for yet another show.
The staff of Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro and Sun.Star SuperBalita had a rare chance of meeting the stars over lunch and gamely revealed their personal opinions and project plans.
The 31-year-old Fernandez, who played the role of a bad guy in the series, gladly shares his experience before he became what he is now.
He admitted that in the past, he had been doing crazy stuffs, just like any normal teenager who had been very confused with life.
But as time goes by, after rehabilitation and more soul searching, Fernandez could say that he is now a better person, just like a metal being honed to perfection.
He shared he is very contented on how his GMA family treated him and takes care of his career.
“I will try to perfect my craft as an artist and cling to it until I will retire, this was the advice given to me by my late father,” said Fernandez, the son of action star Rudy Fernandez and actress Alma Moreno.
He added that he is very flattered being tagged as the next Rudy Fernandez, citing that he will embrace the name with open arms.
Fernandez was in the city for the first time but plans to come back and stay in his mother’s house.
He said he would then proceed to Marawi City to give support to his mother’s future plans. Moreno has been married to a political figure in Marawi.
Meanwhile, Gutierrez gamely answered questions after taking a sumptuous lunch but somehow got annoyed when the topic led to his controversial mother, Annabelle Rama.
“My mom is a good mother. Marami lang naiinggit sa kanya kaya ganun na lang ang reaction ng iba,” he said.
As to his lovelife, he admitted it’s “zero” but claims his eyes are on a special someone.
Gutierrez refused to reveal the name but it showed by the way he took care of Sarah.
“Makapiling Kang Muli” is a riveting story about love, family and dreams that is set to captivate viewers with its well-crafted storyline, unparalleled production values and a drama beyond limits.
The teleserye is under the helm of award-winning actor/director Ricky Davao. It is being shown over GMA-7 Mondays to Fridays and will be seen worldwide via GMA Pinoy TV.
The cast of “Makapiling Kang Muli” unanimously hoped that Kagay-anons will support their new teleserye to make it number one in terms of ratings.
