TWO festivals—Vigan’s Raniag Twillight Festival and Camiguin’s Lanzones Festival—are about to become all the more spectacular this weekend as GMA Network, through its regional arm,
GMA Regional TV, brings its brightest stars to fascinate Kapusong Bigueños and Camiguinons, respectively.
Jumpstarting the series of exciting activities was the much-awaited visit of the cast of top-rating fiery afternoon series Pyra Babaeng Apoy to the Heritage City of Vigan, which is recently regarded as one of the candidates for the “New Seven Wonder Cities.”
Lead star Thea Tolentino, together with Jeric Gonzales, Elle Ramirez, and Zandra Summer participated in the Raniag Twilight Parade on October 26. They lighted up Vigan streets in a tour that started from the Vigan City Hall up to the city’s most popular park, the Plaza Burgos, where the Kapuso Night was held.
In the said Kapuso Night, Thea, Jeric, Elle, and Zandra, were joined by co-star Angelu de Leon, and Kapuso stars Mike Tan, Jackie Rice, Kevin Santos, together with comedians Pekto and Boobay.
Meanwhile, the 4th Raniag Twilight Festival just gets bigger and brighter as the Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera makes her way to Vigan on October 27 to mingle with her supporters via a Kapuso Fans’ Day to be held in front of the Vigan City Hall at 8pm. Prior to this trip, Marian has already made waves in the cities of Cebu, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo, Batangas, Lucena, Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, Tagbilaran, GenSan, Naga, Dumaguete, and Bacolod—areas where she notably received phenomenal audience turnouts.
Also on the roll this weekend is the Lanzones Festival celebrated annually in the country’s second smallest province—Camiguin—specifically in the town of Mambajao, as a thanksgiving for the island’s bountiful harvest.
Festivities began on October 25, with the Mutya ng Buahanan 2013 happening at the Provincial Tourism Center in which GMA Artist Center talent Derrick Monasterio participated.
Today, GMA Regional TV mounts a Kapuso Night at the Provincial Tourism Center at 7 p.m. featuring Rhian Ramos, lead actress of newest primetime drama series Genesis, together with Bea Binene, Ken Chan, and Gladys Guevarra to delight Kapusong Camiguinons.
Highlights of GMA Network’s participation in the Raniag Twilight and Lanzones Festivals can be seen on Let's Fiesta TV Special which will air on November 17 and 24, respectively, via the Network’s regional stations in Bicol, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Dagupan, Ilocos, GenSan, Bacolod, and CDO.
