TEN equally handsome guys representing different barangays of Cagayan de Oro City are vying for this year’s search for Barangay Gwapo of local station ABS-CBN.
Out of 101 aspirants who auditioned last July 13 and after a series of screening, only 10 made it to the final list.
Vying for the title are Francis “Frans” Luperte, 21, known as “Guapong Shy” of Barangay Consolacion; Don Kim Julio Q. Quimbo, 19, or the “Machong Gwapo” of Barangay Nazareth; Alvin Marc “Macky” A. Magpulong, 21, the “Maginoong Gwapo” of Barangay Bugo; Kim Michael “Kimsoy” Paasa Jr., 22, the “Masayahing Gwapo” of Barangay 13; Karl Rembrant B. Mueco, 18, the “Pilyong Gwapo” of Barangay 29; Mike “Mico” D. Abejo, 21, known as “Seryosong Gwapo” of Barangay Macabalan; Noel Vincent “Enteng” C. Oredujos, 19, the “Gwapong Palaban” of Barangay Bulua; Alexander Dan T. Linaac, 22, the “Gwapong Boy Next Door” of Barangay Gusa; Jestoni “Jepz” P. Lopez, 21, known as “Misteryosong Gwapo” of Barangay Macasandig; and Richard “Chard” S. Caspillo, 25, the “Mestisong Gwapo” of Barangay Puntod.

Donna Ocampo, ABS-CBN Northern Mindanao’s general marketing manager, said 10 candidates have undergone a series of exposure and personality development sessions in preparation for the big night on August 17 at the Rodelsa Theatre of Liceo de Cagayan University.
Ocampo said the winners will represent both their barangays and all other activities of ABS-CBN.
The candidates recently took their time off and had a chat with Sun.Star’s editorial staff at Loretos Grill where they shared their unforgettable experiences as they get to bond with each other.
Magpulong says he wouldn’t mind if he won’t get the title since for him, the friendship he shared with the other contestants is already a treasure.
Being included in the Top 10, all of the “gwapo” contestants already consider themselves as winners.
