THE 11 candidates for this year’s Miss Kagay-an showed off their curves and flawless skin during the swimsuit competition held at Hotel Koresco over the weekend.
As part of the search’s criteria, candidates were screened based on their healthy skin and that X-factor and poise in confidently carrying their swimwear.
Vying for the title are Lovely Jane Estampa, 21, a legal analyst; Sydney Taboclaon, 21, from Barangay Canitoan; Laurice Dee Iñosa, 21, from Barangay Balulang; Queenie Bahian, 19, a student of Cagayan de Oro College; Juriel Valledor, 21; Emie Lou Yamba, 20, a sales representative; Roxinne Jearl Monterde, 20, from Barangay Gusa; Kris Pajaron, 20; Greanne Trisha Mendoza, 22, an event organizer; and twins Maria Elaine Angelica Ghan and Maria Leslie Angelina Ghan, both from Barangay Carmen.

During the swimsuit competition, the candidates wore no make-up and ramped away confidently, giving their best shot wearing only the skimpy swimwear.
Rhia Rita Abalos, chairperson of the City Tourism Board, said the swimsuit competition emphasizes the true beauty of each candidate.
She said their fair skin and poise reflects how they take care of their body.
The candidate who looks good in her swimsuit will be announced during the coronation night on August 26 at the Limketkai Atrium.
After the swimsuit competition, organizers treated their sponsors with a sumptuous dinner at the same venue.
Cagayan de Oro 1st District Representative Benjo Benaldo came with her rumored girlfriend, Brazilian model and actress Daiana Menezes.
Menezes said she will be one of the judges during the coronation night.
All the sponsors of this year’s search, including Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro, were given certificates of appreciation for supporting the annual event, which is one of the highlights of the city’s fiesta celebration on August 28.
