TO PROMOTE the local wedding and tourism industry in the country, the 8th leg of Kasalang Filipino, a three-day bridal road show, held its soft opening on Thursday at the Limketkai Rotunda in Cagayan de Oro.
Couples who dreamed of having a unique and memorable wedding will surely get excited to visit the different booths set up at the venue while enjoying a lot of lined up activities for the three-day fair.
Aileen “Ayee” Abao-Parojinog, Chief Operations Officer of Professional Organizers Unlimited Inc., said 46 local and national wedding suppliers will showcase their products in this year’s exhibit to provide better understanding and knowledge to would-be couples.
The three-day event, which ends Saturday, is being organized by Professional Organizers Unlimited Inc. in partnership with Kasal.com and ABS-CBN.
Today, organizers will formally open the bridal fair through a ceremonial ribbon cutting to be followed by a musical entertainment by local musicians.
The day would not be complete without the Ever Bilena Gandang Pinay Make up competition, which would highlight the event.
Parojinog said 25 makeup artists, amateur and professionals, will vie for the best in making their subjects look beautiful on their wedding day.
“The winning artist will be judged based on the color combination of the makeup, skills and techniques, creativity and overall look of their brides-to-be,” she said.
Winners will receive P20,000 worth of products, one year priority listing advertising in Kasal.com, a trophy and a certificate of recognition.
Aside from the makeup competition, a fashion show dubbed “Down the Aisle in Style” sponsored by the Oro Designers Guild will be held, which will showcase 60 wedding entourage designs to give couples an idea on what is the wedding trend of the year.
Couples visiting the three-day bridal fair will also get a chance to win free wedding giveaways and honeymoon packages courtesy of the exhibitors.
Would-be couples who signed up will also have a chance to win prizes to help them on their dream wedding.
Parojinog said Cagayan de Oro has a lot of talented beauticians and designers that would-be couples may consider.
"The best thing about this event is that we are promoting the local wedding and tourism industry of every city, particularly our beloved Cagayan de Oro," she said.
After Cagayan de Oro, the bridal show will visit San Fernando on Sept 29. General Santos and Dagupan.
“Kasalang Filipino” has already visited Tagaytay, Tarlac, Legazpi, Dumaguete, Davao, Bacolod, Manila and Cebu.
