Loving your job and living
-A A +AThursday, October 4, 2012
UNEMPLOYMENT is one of the major problems of the Philippines. But the good news is, we are doing something about it. In fact, on-the-spot hiring of employees are randomly done in our local malls from time to time.
Reality check, we must admit that it is still very difficult to find an energy sustaining job with a good pay. Normally, people complain about overworked and underpaid jobs.
Mind you, let me share something good about this scenario. It’s not that bad. We just have to change our perspective of the whole thing, that we still have jobs for the reason; of waking up early, reporting to our immediate supervisors, taking three public vehicles or more in a day just to get to our point of destination, and thus even work on Saturdays until Sundays.
Nevertheless, my mental view of having a job is to always thank the omnipotent up for making me busy, because being healthily preoccupied is a gift from God. This is the perfect learning place of how to handle situations and attend to people and its personalities, from all walks of life.
In other words, our Job is the portal towards maturity. And living maturely is not done overnight. It is the process of which character building should be tested and proven many times. Meaning, no short cuts are made. One should possess tons and tons of patience, a determined heart for excellence in mind and spirit, and lastly, staying positive whatever comes our way.
Therefore, our job is essential to our existence. So, “don’t just make your job as paycheck” (according to Boucher from the web), let it be the expression of who we are.
