MINDSET + Actions = Results.

“Poor mind set, rich mind set.. Everything starts with mind setting,” says Ferdinand “Chinkee” Tan, wealth coach, for his opening spiel on The Power to Create and Manage Wealth held at Rodelsa Hall on July 11, 2014.
Starting out as one of Randy Santiago’s “Hawi Boys” in 1987, Chinkee cleared the way for Randy Santiago’s public appearances.

At 12 years old, he was his mother’s delivery boy for their tissue roll business because they couldn’t afford to hire one. As a child, he drooled on classmates who had Transformers lunch boxes.

He waited until the stickers peeled off, picked them up, and glued them on his notebook.

“I didn’t have the luxury. I knew then that I was not free.” Chinkee said.

“When your wife calls you to buy medicine and you only have money for pamasahe, you are not free. You are hungry but you can’t get yourself a meal, you are controlled.”

For him, success starts with a vision. Ferdinand Tan’s ultimate dream was to be free.

Before 25, Chinkee Tan earned his 1st million.
Today, he is a financial planner and sells books on financial strategies vis-à-vis spiritual guidance.

His most used advice is to save. It is not about how much you make, he says. You don’t make your income work around your lifestyle, but level your lifestyle to your income.

Doing one's best every day

Tan spelled the best possible ways to save money which most Filipinos find hard to practice during his talk.

For those starting out, do not compare yourself to others. The only question you have to ask is “did I do my best today?” Your subconscious will tell you the answer. If nothing happens for you yet, believe that God prepares the right time for you. You will have your spotlight.

Invest and make sure that you are investing in the right place. This way, you make money work for you. Not the other way around. Never get into a business you do not know about even if you think it will make a lot of money. Do not do it out of ignorance, greed or trust either.

And never put your eggs in one basket. Use your current status to your advantage. Build connections, create opportunities for yourself.

Most of all GET OUT OF DEBT or do not get in to it! The key is to budget and discipline. Easier said than done but this is your first step to attaining freedom.

And when you are finally wealthy, ask yourself: “Is it bringing out the best or the worst in me?”

“It’s all about conditioning the mind positively. It takes great effort but once you are able to do it, money will make your life easier, not stress you out. That’s how you know that you are free.

Remember, mindset plus action equals results. So ‘CHINK’ positive.” With these words Chinkee Tan started and closed his afternoon talk, because it all starts and ends with the mind.
