Fire bureau revamps personnel

THE Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has significantly revamped its fire marshals in Northern Mindanao recently.

In its regional placement and selection board (RPSB) resolution number 2010-01 pursuant to the order of BFP-Northern Mindanao and approved by Regional Director Eleuterio N. Iturriaga, fire marshals, including current Cagayan de Oro City fire marshal (CFM) Benigno L. Amomonpon, are promoted to higher position effective July 26, 2010.

Iturriaga said Amomonpon will be assigned to Misamis Occidental as the provincial fire marshal (PFM) replacing Guavin L. Lood, who will be the new administrative officer.

Amomonpon will be replaced by Fire Senior Inspector Reynante S. Lorono from
Valencia City, who was recommended by Mayor Vicente Y. Emano and Valencia City
Mayor Leandro Jose H. Catarata.

“Since he is major (in rank), he will be assigned as the provincial fire marshal,” Iturriaga said.

He said it was the request of Emano to replace Amomonpon in the position.

“Maybe because he (Mayor Emano) was not satisfied,” he said.

Catarata also recommended Senior Inspector Ronald L. Quimson to replace Lorono in Valencia City. Quimson acted as the provincial fire marshal for Bukidnon.

“I was branded as against politicians. Now, as they (mayors) can see, I granted heir requests,” Iturriaga said.

This came also as BFP-Northern Mindanao Administrative Officer Jorge J. Ralozo retires from service by November 2010 and the position needs to be filled out immediately.

In a resolution furnished to Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro Friday, the BFP said the revamp is necessary as several officers, particularly those fire marshals, have been in their posts for a longer period of time.

Other officers affected by the reshuffle include Chief Inspector Oscar Q. Abecia as acting PFM for Lanao del Norte whose previous assignment was the PFM for Misamis Oriental; Chief Inspector Ciriaco A. Talines, PFM, Lanao del Norte to acting PFM, Misamis Oriental; Chief Inspector Alan A. Cabot, Iligan City to executive assistant, regional headquarters (RHQ); Senior Inspector Romualdo P. Duna, Impasug-ong, Bukidnon to chief admin at PFM, Bukidnon; Senior Inspector Wilfredo A. David, Ozamis City to Iligan City; Inspector Jack M. Bigwil, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon to Ozamis City; Inspector Richard P. Bulayog, as chief of the records section at the regional headquarters; Inspector Emmanuel C. Ragpala, Bacolod City to Baroy, Lanao del Norte; Inspctor Federico H. Toledo, Jr., Manticao, Misamis Oriental to chief, operations, PFM, MisOr; SF04 Virgilio P.
