Exploring Nature
Saturday, August 13, 2011
I AM a certified nature lover as I always get fascinated with greeneries, mountain slopes, trees and anything that brings fresh air into my lungs.
Whenever I feel tired at home, I would try to stand on the front door, feel where the fresh air is coming and take deep breaths in three cycles, as what I learned from a health advocate many years back who said this is to allow oxygenated air to go directly into our body. And when I do this, it’s as if miracle comes and I would then feel rejuvenated.

Going to work six days a week is definitely stressful so it’s advisable that we relax once in a while.
While in Davao last week, I got the chance to unwind and feel the beauty of Mother Nature when I and other journalists from Cagayan de Oro and Bukidnon visited Eden Nature Park and Resort upon the invitation of AboitizPower.
Actually, the Eden tour was just part of a three-day media tour that AboitizPower organized. It was just a side trip since the main purpose of the Davao visit was a tour of the company’s run-of-river hydro plant in Davao del Sur.
And the side trip was very relaxing, what with the greens and fresh air that we got while touring the whole park on board Eden’s shuttle. What I saw was a fry cry from what was Eden eight years ago during my last visit.
We toured the park’s different natural and man-made amenities and had stops in between for picture taking.
What’s amusing is that the park makes use of organic vegetables and herbs direct from its own garden.
Among the must-see facilities at the park that tourists would surely love are the fishing village, campsite and camp huts, amphitheatre and flower garden, deer park, Lola’s Garden, Tinubdan that leads one to a “cultural journey into the heartland of indigenous wisdom,” birdwalk, Matinlo pond and sports field where you can try the zipline, do horseback riding and play soccer.
There is also a prayer garden and a chapel if you want to meditate. Our short stopover at Eden Nature Park and Resort had even made my love for greens and nature soar. I can’t wait to visit the park again and feel much more rejuvenated at the beauty of God’s creations.
