The singer, whose hits include “Baleleng” and the Visayan song “Mitulo Na,” had released more than 400 songs in 35 albums, most of which he personally composed. He had just recently undergone a knee surgery but still managed to show off his best during the concert.

The ‘70s Superband, which is composed of songwriters, album producers, arrangers and composers of different bands in the 1970s, also showed off their singing prowess with their rendition of several songs in the decade in medleys.

The band, whose members come from the 1970s bands such as VST and Company, Cinderella, Abrakadabra and Wadab, made the audience groove with their rendition of “Rock Baby Rock,” “Macho Gwapito,” “Dahil Mahal Kita,” “Awitin mo at Isasayaw Ko” and “Sumayaw Sumunod” by the Boyfriends.

Nonoy Tan, former vocalist of Wadab who composed the song “My Love Will See You Through,” led the band in doing a medley review of Manila sound such as “Miss Universe ng Buhay ko,” “Binibini,” “Oh Babe,” ”Can We Just Stop and Talk a While” by Jose Mari Chan, “Panalangin,” “Bulag, Pipi at Bingi” and “Tayo’y Magsayawan” by VST and Co.

The band also entertained the crowd with their folk medley of such songs as “Tayo’y Mga Pinoy,” “Anak,” “Ako’y Pinoy,” Bayan Ko,” “Handog,” “Ipagpatawad Mo” and “Bato sa Buhangin.”

Laughter also overflowed at the venue as the comic duo of Tabo at Timba shared their antics to the audience.

The crowd who watched the concert certainly had a grand time swaying and laughing.

The concert served as the launching venue of Lifemax’s products and all proceeds will go to the association of senior citizens in the city.
