True happiness

WHEN I became a Catholic Charismatic many years ago, I became an avid reader of the Holy Bible. As such, I had favorite Psalms, favorite parables and even passages in the Holy Scripture. After a few years thereafter, my interest waned but still I read the Holy Book but not as intense as before.

One of my favorites is Psalm I. This is titled “True Happiness.”

Have something to report? Tell us in text, photos or videos.

“Happy is the man who follows not the counsel of the wicked nor walks in the company of the insolent but meditates on his law day and night. He is like a tree planted near running water that yields its fruits in due season and whose leaves never fades. Whatever he does prospers. Not so the wicked, they are like chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore in judgment, the wicked shall not stand nor sinners in the assembly of the just. For the Lord watches over the way of the just, but the way of the wicked vanishes.”

I don’t have to explain this, it’s a simple Psalm and can easily be understood by an intelligent intermediate grader.

Jesus, during his time, was in the company of the sinners and corrupt. But he was able to convince them to becoming spiritually mature. But He is God. Not us, however. The Psalms are divinely inspired, many believe, including myself.

The book of Psalms is a compilation of religious songs believed by many to have been composed by King David, the reformed adulterer, and other poets and temple singers.

The Church of the Divine Mercy is about 60 percent finished. The roofing, the walls are to be installed yet and an excellent sound system for the celebrating priest to be clearly heard by the Mass goers. For a homily, which cannot be heard well by the Mass audience, is definitely tragic.

The still to be completed Divine Mercy Church is expected to be functional in May this year, that is, if many pilgrims would be generous in parting away with their money to make the Divine Mercy Church stand by May of this year, as an excellent example of how God touched the lives of the believers. Two donors lately gave substantial amounts to the Divine Mercy Foundation. But they want to remain anonymous for they come from areas where kidnappings are in fashion.

I thought that my wife and I will reside already in our residence in PSB-Ulaliman, El Salvador City in Misamis Oriental. The capital of Misamis Oriental is Cagayan de Oro City, but being a highly urbanized City, the Provincial Governor of the province has no more control and supervision of the City, as provided by law. The voters of the City no longer participate in the election of provincial officials like the governor, vice governor and the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

Unlike Gingoog City and El Salvador City, which are component cities of the province, it is still under the supervision and control of the Governor, just like the 24 towns of the province. Cagayan de Oro City remains the capital of the province.

I will settle in our residence in PSB-Ulaliman, El Salvador City by February this year so that my wife can give focus to the development and completion of the properties of the Divine Mercy Foundation of Mindanao Phils. Inc.

Some of the Board of Trustees have their residences already ready for occupancy, all for the glory of God, for they too serve well and dedicated to our God.
