GIVE to Cesar what’s to Cesar’s and give to God what’s to God, Jesus told the Pharises for they wanted to stone Him to death. But Jesus instead gave out such answer and they were amazed by His reply.
That’s why it is good for priests to be actively involved in issues affecting the nation and the community.
For the first time in the 60 years history of the Cagayan de Oro Press Club, it elected a Catholic priest as President.
Monsignor Elmer Abacahin has always been involved in social issues, economic and political affairs affecting the nation and the community too. He has always credibly spoken out besetting the morals of the community. Today, he is the parish priest of Alubijid, Misamis Oriental.
Together with Monsignor Rey Monsanto, Rector of the Shrine of the Black Nazarene, they are the tandem who spoke openly for the devotion to be spread in the Diocese.

Last November 11, 2011, we celebrated the 40 years of our marriage in a simple but elegant ceremony. It was a dual event for it also was the 61st birthday of my wife.
I am very happy together with my wife that our first granddaughter, Trisha, will already be in college to face the challenges of the future. Praise God.

There is no question that Senator Miriam Santiago is intellectual. But certainly she has no right to call Atty. Vitaliano Aguirre, a private prosecutor in the impeachment trial, as “gago.” It is so demeaning and degrading too.
She should behave properly in the Senate befitting her title as Honorable.
