YOUNG and promising designers from the Fashion Institute of the Philippines (FIP) showed off their extraordinary creations in a fashion show dubbed “Fashionology” held on Sunday at SM City.
The members of the Model’s Association of Cagayan de Oro wore with confidence the designs of FIP students Cheska Ma, Melanie Ching, Lyris Dablo, Khenny Mercado, Zoe Botwin, Mavylee Cooper, Elton Ladd Batinga, Tanya Kay, Inyaki Yuson, Badette Tan, Nemitz Zayas, Sol Morales, Nehaya Mipangcat and Charina Pistano.
Mimi Parrel-Pimentel, FIP directress, said what the models wore on the catwalk are the personal works and best collections of the students.
Benjie S. Manuel, a fashion designer and the director of “Fashionology,” said among the best creations of the students include women and men’s wear, evening gowns, casual wear and street wears.
Manuel said some of the FIP students are make-up artists and models themselves who personally organized the event.
“I am urging the public to support the fashion industry of Cagayan de Oro,” he said.
Matt Andrew Magto, a model who joined the fashion show, said the event is a good exposure for the budding designers.
“This event will ensure, broaden and boosts the fashion sense of the people of Cagayan de Oro and make them aware that such industry exists,” Magto said.
Other guest designers who also showcased their collections in the event include Dirkie Dabbay, Shannon Pamaong, Mikee Andrei, Aries Lagat, Arthur Guerra and Krisan Jacomina.
