Happy Valentine’s Day!-A A +A
Wednesday, February 12, 2014
TWO days from now, we will celebrate Valentine’s Day with our loved ones.
Valentine’s Day invites each and every one of us to contribute happiness with our loved ones. Sometimes our hearts become slow and tired, worn-out and exhausted from the hustle and bustle of life.
If we know how to laugh and make others laugh which bring joy into our lives, then laughter lifts us above our cares and woes. Humor is the cheerful face of goodness.
The language of love is inexhaustibly rich and can embody our gratitude in a variety of ways: a handshake, a kiss, a flower or a gift.
We are grateful for the people we love, for the friends we have been given, for the people who fill our hearts with joy, time after time, for mothers and fathers, for children bursting with happiness and all those who taught us how to be grateful.
Another sign of goodness is being able to allow ourselves to be thanked by another. There are people who find it important to express their gratitude, to say what is in their heart. We accept their thanks without turning them into a possession of our own. We can pass their gratitude to God since as servants, we are only doing our duty. It should make us sing for joy to realize that God is part of our impulse to be good. God shares with us the very heart of His Spirit, the Love, which is His very Being. We can pass that Love on to others.
We need to sing for joy to set ourselves free, to express our love and our pain, our gratitude and happiness. There is a crazy pain of love because we want everything for the ones we love, to be everything for them, but then we sense that to give everything is beyond our means.
Love is a topic as old as the world yet eternally new. Love will always have a different face and at the same time still love. And goodness is love’s most attractive face which is like a precious gem with a thousand facets ready to fit in our everyday situation: patience, seriousness, cheerfulness, interest, service, advice, humor, friendliness and the last but not the least is tact.
Happy Valentine’s Day to all of us!
