SM Foundation now accepts application for college scholarships

BE ONE of the next batch of SM Scholars!

The SM College Scholarship Program of SM Foundation now starts accepting applicants until December 20, 2010.

The scholarship program is open to all graduating students of public high schools in the National Capital Region, Baguio, Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Lucena, Pampanga, Bacolod, Cebu, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro and Davao with a weighted average of at least 88 percent by the second or third grading period in their senior year.


Household income of the applicant's family must not exceed P150,000 per annum.

SM scholars are encouraged to enroll in courses leading to Baccalaureate degrees in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Management, Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Elementary and Secondary Education and Accountancy.

They can pursue their studies at SM Foundation's partner schools in the greater Manila area such as Asia Pacific College, Far Eastern University, Adamson University, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Philippine Normal University, FEU-East Asia College, University of the East-Caloocan, University of the East-Manila, University of the Philippines-Diliman and National University.

They can also enroll in partner schools in the provinces like Cebu Normal University, University of San Carlos, Cebu Institute of Technology, St. Louis University, University of San Agustin, West Visayas State University, University of Southeastern Philippines, University of Batangas, Batangas State University, San Beda College Recoletos (Cavite), Holy Angel University, University of Mindanao, Meycauayan College, Bulacan State University, University of Perpetual
Help, Angeles University Foundation, St. Michael's College (Laguna), Cavite State University, Xavier University and University of Negros Occidental Recoletos.

Aside from matriculation fees, SM Foundation also provides for the scholars' monthly allowance.

The activities of the scholars are closely monitored by the foundation providing them with year-long activities like training programs, value-formation seminars, holy retreat, Christmas parties and educational tours.

Scholars are also given summer/Christmas break jobs to enable them to earn and augment their allowances.
