Abanales said the e-blotter system is a project of the PNP that aims to modernize the crime database and to have a daily monitoring of the 10 police stations in the city.

She said through the e-blotter system, crime date incidents in different police stations will be transmitted directly to the national office.

“During the activity, at least three police stations such as 1 (Divisoria), 3 (Agora) and 5 (Macabalan) will be utilized for the ceremonial launching,” she said.

Adriatico added that the e-blotter system will become an effective management tool for all the commanders in decision-making, in formulating anti-crime strategies and in the deployment of their personnel.

“The new system is tamper-free and that all crime incidents in different areas of responsibility of the respective police stations will be encoded in the system and will be transmitted to Camp Crame,” he said.

It was learned that this new system is a “cost-free” project since the software is being developed locally by the programmers of the PNP’s Information Technology Management Service (ITMS) and shall be installed into the desktop of every police stations and units.

Abanales said at least 10 police personnel from the 10 police stations in the city underwent a two-day seminar last January 24 to 25 in Camp Alagar in preparation for the implementation of the new system,.

Adriatico also pointed out that the project is part of their mandate to render better police service to improve and enhance crime incidents reporting system with the use of modern technology. (ALR)
