Oro’s river now offers more thrill for rafting
Saturday, February 4, 2012
THE City Government is encouraging tourists and Kagay-anons to venture into river rafting, as the aftermath of Tropical Storm Sendong brings new extreme adventure format for extremists to enjoy.
Vice Mayor Caesar Ian Acenas said river rafting, as one of the tourist attractions in the city, has become dormant since rafters volunteered help in the City Government’s rescue operations after “Sendong”.

But almost two months after the flash flood, Acenas said rafting operators already gave a green signal that rafting adventure is now back to business as they have already cleared the river and ensure the safety of their clients.
“I was informed by the operators that river rafting is more thrilling this time since more rocks were added due to the flash floods that literally add architecture of the river, thereby providing more thrill to enthusiasts,” Acenas said.
He said he will personally try the new rafting experience brought by the new river direction, which he claimed is more extreme.
