“We expect conviction and we are very confident on that considering that we presented strong evidences. The operation is legitimate with proper coordination with the management of the mall and the courier company,” Opeña said.
Yusop was arrested last November 21, 2011 while he was about to load a package that contained almost two kilos of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P20 million inside his vehicle parked outside a mall in Cagayan de Oro.
The illegal drug was taped at a television’s picture tube that was sent to Yusop through a courier company.
Opeña said the guilty verdict would also boost the morale of the PDEA agents who worked 24 hours to arrest the suspect, who is considered as one of the “big time dealers” and believed to be a member of a drug syndicate operating in Mindanao.
The prosecution also expects “conviction,” citing the seizure as the biggest buy bust in Cagayan de Oro.
