Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro East Urban members mobilized the clearing operations in the area. Students from the Capitol University College of Maritime Education and Graduate School, among other departments, also helped.
“Building 45 tents in less than five hours is a feat in itself but truly, the 45 families who are still homeless will finally have a comfortable dwelling place because of the passion, time and energy of these young people,” said Mark Eccles, a European volunteer who travels around the world to respond to calamities.
The Rotary International and Rotary Club of West Cagayan de Oro have shared resources for the meals of the volunteers.
ShelterBox aims to help 50,000 families every year. ShelterBox provides emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies to families around the world who are affected by disasters.
Supplies contains blankets, water storage and filtration equipment, cooking utensils, stove, basic tool kit, toy pack for children’s activity and other vital items useful for the family.
ShelterBox was founded by Tom Henderson, a Rotarian and former Royal Navy search.
